Sri Lanka Matha Article, Signification, Explication

L'hymne national Sri Lankais est le « Sri Lanka Matha », une composition d'Ananda Samarakoon d'après son œuvre « Namo Namo Matha » dont les paroles ont été légèrement modifiées pour la circonstance. Il a été choisi à l'issue d'un concours, le 22 novembre 1951.

Surndi athi Sobamana Lanka

Dhanya dhanaya neka mal pala thuru piri, jaya bhoomiya ramya.

Apa hata spa siri setha sadana, jee vanaye Matha!

Piliganu mana apa bhakti pooja,

Namo Namo Matha.

Apa Sri Lanka,

Obave apa vidya obamaya apa sathya obave apa shakti

apa hada thula bhakti oba apa aloke

mana jaya bhoomi kara
